By the end of 2005, there were 10 commercial breweries operating in London, including three brewpubs. These breweries were:
- Anheuser-Busch UK (Stag) SW14, Richmond upon Thames
- Battersea Brewery SW11, Wandsworth, unrelated to current Battersea Brewery
- Brew Wharf SE1, Southwark, brewpub NEW!
- Fuller Smith & Turner W4, Hounslow, which this year bought and closed George Gale & Co of Horndean, Hampshire, transferring the yeast and some of the brands to London.
- Grand Union Brewery (The) UB3, Hillingdon
- Mash W1, Westminster, brewpub
- Meantime Brewing SE18, Greenwich
- Twickenham Fine Ales TW2, Richmond upon Thames
- Young & Co’s Brewery (Ram Brewery) SW18, Wandsworth
- Zerodegrees Blackheath SE3, Lewisham, brewpub
Closed this year
- Bünker WC2, Camden, brewpub, though kit not removed immediately
- Guinness Park Royal Brewery NW10, Brent, with all production transferred to Dublin
- Haggards Brewery (Imperial Arms) SW8, Wandsworth
- Pitfield’s Organic Brewery N1, Hackney, relocated to Essex
Suspended this year
- Sweet William Brewery (King William IV) E10, Waltham Forest, brewpub later revived as Brodie’s
